Planning Backwards from Iftar Time
The safest approach is to place your order at least 45–60 minutes before sunset, factoring in both kitchen prep time and delivery time. During Ramadan, kitchens across the city — ours included — see a sharp spike in orders in the final hour before iftar, so building in extra buffer time is worth it.
- Order light items (samosas, pakoras, rolls) closer to sunset since they cook and travel fast.
- Order heavier mains (karahi, BBQ platters, biryani) with more lead time since they need proper cook time.
- Confirm your order 15–20 minutes before your target time if it hasn't been dispatched yet.
What to Order for a Balanced Iftar
A traditional Lahori iftar starts light — dates, fruit chaat, and something fried like pakoras or samosas — before moving into a heavier main course once the initial hunger is addressed. Jumping straight into a heavy karahi on an empty stomach isn't ideal; easing in with lighter items first is both more comfortable and more traditional.
